This project was a sunroof assembly line retrofit for an automotive sunroof manufacturer.  A Rockwell PLC and HMI software platform was utilized, as well as ABB robotic software, Robocylinder servo software, and Visual Basic custom software development for various ancillary operations.

OTI was contracted to provide a turn-key system for Webasto to deliver a single-station test cell to perform the test and data collection functions for the GMX384 Lamella sunroof.  A PLC and SCADA software was based on a Rockwell platform with a custom Visual Basic application created, in conjunction with Crystal Reports, to deliver all data collection and reporting functionality.
  
 New Paint Shop Process Controls

OTI provided the electrical and software design, equipment, and commissioning for a new automotive paint shop in Mexico.  The PLC platform was Rockwell’s ControlLogix with Siemens’ WinCC Flexible HMI.  OTI’s scope included the following systems: Phosphate, ELPO, ELPO Oven, Prime Oven, Topcoat Oven, Prime Booth, Topcoat Booth, Miscellaneous Booths, Sludge, Central Humidification, RTO, and the Energy Management System.
  
 Fuel Blending System

Click to Download White Paper PDFOTI provided the conceptual design, electrical and software design, and system commissioning for a fuel blending system at an automotive research facility.  A Rockwell PLC and servo system was design in conjunction with an Iconics’ WebHMI to provide the necessary functionality.  The operational environment for the fuel board was a Class I Division I area, with over 700 manual valves that required actuation via two OTI-supplied robot systems.

OTI provided the electrical and software design, equipment, and commissioning to retrofit an existing paint facility with a new controls architechture.  The PLC platform was Rockwell’s ControlLogix with Siemens’ WinCC Flexible HMI.  OTI’s scope included the following systems: Prime Booth, Topcoat Booths, Miscellaneous Booths, Sludge, Central Humidification, VOC Abatement, Air Dryer, and Carrier Cleaner.

OTI provided six engineers to design and commission the conversion of an existing packaging design from Mitsubishi to Siemens.  The software platforms utilized for this project included EPLAN, Siemens Step 7, and WinCC Flexible, along with Siemens Scout, Simotion, and Sinamics motion-based control.
